Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, opening or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

Running Empire is a location-based game in which a user's real runs turn into the capture of cells on the map. The App is provided on an "as is" basis. We may change, supplement or discontinue individual features at any time.

3. User Accounts

An account is required to play. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or a login and password. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for actions taken under it.

You agree to provide accurate information and not to use other people's accounts without permission.

4. User Content and Activity Data

You retain rights to the content you provide (profile name, description, run data). By using the App, you grant us the right to process this data to operate the game — to calculate territory, progress and the leaderboard.

You must not upload content that infringes the rights of third parties or violates the law.

5. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Running Empire is not a medical or healthcare app. The App does not provide medical advice. You engage in physical activity at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.

Consult a doctor before starting any exercise. While running, follow traffic rules, stay aware of your surroundings, and do not use the App in a way that distracts you from your safety.

6. Territory Game Mechanics

Cell capture, levels, the leaderboard and territory "decay" are game mechanics. Game progress and territory have no monetary value, are not property, and cannot be exchanged for money.

We may adjust game balance and recalculate territory and progress to maintain fair play.

7. Prohibited Use

The following is prohibited:

• falsifying location or otherwise faking run data ("GPS spoofing");
• using bots, automation or exploiting bugs to gain an advantage;
• disrupting server operation or attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' data;
• using the App for unlawful purposes or to harm other people.

If these rules are violated, we may restrict or block access to the App.

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the App: Profile → Settings → Delete account. How data is handled upon deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is", without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, damage or losses arising in connection with use of the App, including physical activity during runs.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
