Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Running Empire is a location-based game: you run real streets and your route turns into captured cells on the map. To operate the App, we need a limited set of data. We follow the principle of minimization: we collect only what is needed for the game to work.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

• name (or in-game display name);
• email address, if provided;
• Apple or Google user identifier received when you sign in with those services;
• internal user identifier in our system;
• game profile: color, chosen crest, short "about" description.

Activity and location data

• GPS coordinates of your run route, including the accuracy and timestamp of each point;
• distance and duration of the run;
• derived data: captured territory cells (H3) and game progress.

Technical data

• basic server diagnostics and App crashes, needed to fix errors.

3. How We Use Data

The collected data is used solely to:

• create and maintain your account;
• record runs and calculate territory capture on the map;
• show game progress, levels and the global leaderboard;
• ensure sign-in security and account protection;
• fix errors and improve the App's stability.

We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.

4. Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In

The App supports Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. When you sign in, we receive a unique user identifier from the respective service and, where available, your name and email address.

If you choose to hide your email when signing in with Apple, Apple provides us with a relay address in the form xxxxx@privaterelay.appleid.com. We respect this choice and treat such an address the same as a regular one.

The primary account identifier is the provider identifier, not the email address. This lets you sign in to the same account even with a hidden email.

5. Location and Running Activity

Location is a core part of the game. The App requests access to your location, including in the background, in order to record your run route correctly even when the screen is off.

Location data is collected only while a run is being actively recorded. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings — in that case, recording runs will not be available.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

The App contains no third-party advertising SDKs and performs no advertising tracking across apps and websites. We do not share data with ad networks.

To maintain stability, we may use basic server technical logs and crash information. This data is diagnostic in nature.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data may be processed by the following service providers solely to operate the App:

• Apple — when using Sign in with Apple;
• Google — when using Google Sign-In;
• Mapbox — to display the territory map.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

8. Data Storage and Retention

Data is stored on servers we control, with reasonable technical protection measures applied. Session tokens are stored on the device in the operating system's secure storage.

We retain account and activity data for as long as your account exists. After account deletion, personal data is deleted or anonymized as described in Section 9.

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly in the App: Profile → Settings → Delete account.

When you delete your account, we:

• mark the account as deleted;
• delete or anonymize personal data — name, email address, avatar, description;
• unlink Apple and Google identifiers;
• revoke all session tokens (sign-out on all devices).

Signing in again after deletion does not restore your previous personal data.

10. User Rights

You have the right to:

• request information about what data of yours we store;
• correct inaccurate profile data in the App;
• delete your account and associated personal data;
• revoke location access in your device settings.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children of this age. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete such data.
